The commitment: EngineVPN does not record your online activity. We cannot tell you which sites you visited, what you downloaded, or which IP you were assigned in the past — because we don't keep that information.
1. What "no-logs" means here
Many services use the phrase loosely. We mean something specific: we do not store activity logs that could link a person to what they did online. This document lists exactly what is and isn't retained.
2. We do not log
- Websites, services, or IP addresses you connect to.
- DNS queries made through the tunnel.
- The contents, size, or timing of individual requests.
- Your originating IP address paired with session activity.
- A persistent mapping between you and any exit IP after a session ends.
3. What we do keep
Running a sustainable service requires a small amount of operational and billing data:
- Account basics: email and authentication credentials.
- Aggregate usage: total bandwidth per billing period, and active-exit counts, used for capacity planning and billing. For Agentic VPN, per-key totals are kept for invoicing.
- Transient operational state: the live data a server needs to route an active connection, held in memory only and gone when the connection closes or the node reboots.
4. How we enforce it
- RAM-only nodes. Core exits run from volatile memory with no persistent disk for logs. A reboot wipes operational state entirely.
- Logging disabled by default. Connection and query logging is switched off in our server configuration, not merely rotated away.
- Aggregation, not records. Billing counters are incremented in aggregate; they don't store the events behind them.
- Least access. Engineers can't retrieve activity that isn't recorded, and infrastructure access is restricted and audited.
5. Abuse handling without activity logs
We protect the network using real-time, in-memory signals (such as live rate and connection limits) rather than stored histories. Action taken against abuse does not depend on, or create, retrospective activity logs.
6. Legal requests
If we receive a valid legal demand, we can only provide data we actually hold. Because we don't keep activity logs, there is no browsing history to hand over. We assess every request for validity and scope.
7. Verification
We believe a no-logs claim should be checkable. Our aim is to support independent audits of these practices and to publish the results; where applicable we'll link them from this page.
